Cigars for Beginners - Brief Introduction
If you are new to cigars, it is best to start out with a
light-bodied cigar. The Shakespeare line offers several unique
and flavorful choices which are perfect for the beginning
cigar smoker. Remember, do not inhale a cigar. Simply pull
the smoke into your mouth to taste it, then gently exhale.
Aside from the body of the cigar, you also have a choice
related to size and shape. Larger cigars are not necessarily
stronger, but they do take longer to smoke. Here is a general
guide you can follow as far as cigar size and time to smoke.
- Robusto - A short, fat cigar that will take approx. 30
minutes to smoke.
- Torpedo - A medium length cigar, thin at one end and fat
at the other, will take approx. 35-45 minutes to smoke.
- Churchill - A long, fat cigar that usually takes an hour
to smoke.
